Building Community Spaces with Creators

Many of the Myanmar creators working with Docu Athan are based in Mae Sot, a town on the Thai-Myanmar border. Docu Athan is committed to creating spaces in Mae Sot to support these creators and improve their production environments.

Camera Equipment Rental / Editing Room Access

Among the creators in this border region, many lack access to essential equipment such as cameras and computers.

Some have shared their reasons for this:

  • "I fled with only the clothes on my back, leaving my vital work tools behind."

  • "To conceal my identity as a journalist, I had to part with my camera equipment."

In response to these challenges, Docu Athan provides free access to filming and editing equipment to support those continuing their creative work in difficult circumstances.

Much of this camera equipment has been donated through the “Nagai’s Camera Project.”
